I chose this piece because it had alot of different separate patterns in it. There are many different borders running around the desk and each of them have a unique design. I also thought it wasn't your typical example of pattern. According to the site i got this off of, this was a desk used by Islamic people living in Spain. I am not sure who the artist of this piece is seeing how it is old, but it is currently being held in the Met.

That's beautiful! I love the antiqueness of it and the carefully painted patterns around the edges.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like one of the types of suitcases that somebody would bring to the "antiques roadshow" tv show where people bring in random items and find out if they are worth anything.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great and very unique choice. I think it's great that you chose something that wasn't on a canvas and this is a good example of many different types of pattern. What caught my attention first was the kind of rose shaped patten on the front, but when looked at more closely, I really got to see all of the little details. I like the pattern bordering the said rose pattern best. Great example!
